Sustainability
Shaping the future of packaging
Sustainability is responsibility
Ecology and sustainability are key guiding principles of the modern economy and society. Climate protection acts as an important driver of innovation in industry. We attach great importance to developing future-proof technologies – for example, pouch machines that can process recyclable mono-PE films, or solutions that replace shrink tunnels in secondary packaging. We are proud to have supplied a stand-up pouch machine that was used to produce a pouch that won the German Packaging Award in 2019. For B&B, sustainability covers many areas – from machine development to our own operations. In 2026, our site in Hopsten was recognised as an ÖKOPROFIT® company.

“Sustainability is not a trend, but a responsibility – today more than ever. As a company, we have a clear commitment: to achieve economic success with due regard for the environment and society. For us, this means using resources consciously, promoting social justice and creating long-term prospects. We act with foresight – for our employees, our customers and the next generation.”
Keeping environmental, social and governance matters in focus.

Using energy and materials responsibly matters to us on two levels: at our site in Hopsten and in the machines we develop for our customers. In our own operations, we pay attention to how we use energy, handle resources and avoid waste. For our machines, we focus on technical developments intended to reduce our customers' energy and material requirements.

We take on social responsibility – as a reliable employer in the region and as an active part of our community. Central to this are secure jobs, good working conditions, and the promotion of young talents. Through training, further education, and regional partnerships, we strengthen our role as an attractive employer locally.

We place great importance on transparency, integrity, and fair working conditions – both within our own company and along the supply chain. We stand for a values-based, future-oriented corporate management. Clarity, reliability, and a responsible approach to employees and partners shape our actions – today and in the future.

Social engagement

A company is only as strong as its people. That is why we aim to create an environment in which our employees not only feel safe and respected, but can also realise their full potential. Good working conditions do not come about by themselves – they are the result of conscious decisions. At B&B, we are committed to ensuring that our employees feel comfortable, stay healthy and enjoy being part of our team. This includes ergonomic and healthy working conditions as well as flexible working models that help balance work and private life. We support individual development through targeted training opportunities and foster an open, inclusive corporate culture in which equal opportunities are a matter of course. Our apprentices are particularly close to our hearts: with personal mentoring, team events and an active presence at apprenticeship fairs, we lay a strong foundation for the start of their careers. Our responsibility does not end at the factory gate. We maintain educational partnerships and university collaborations and support social projects in the Münsterland region, for example in youth and grassroots sports. In this way, we see ourselves as a fair and reliable employer, training provider and local partner.

Corporate Governance

As a second-generation family-owned business, B&B Verpackungstechnik stands for value-based, forward-looking corporate leadership. Our decisions are guided by reliability, a clear understanding of our values, and an awareness of our responsibility toward our employees, business partners, and the region.
At the same time, we rely on innovation, flexibility, and digital resilience to actively respond to new challenges and continuously evolve. This combination of tradition and progress forms the foundation for a management approach that builds long-term trust - both internally and externally.

“For us, sustainability is not a one-off project, but a continuous process that we, as a company, must actively shape.
The demands from the market, legislators and society are constantly growing – and we are taking on this responsibility.
By taking environmental, social and economic aspects into account, we lay the foundations for the long-term, future-oriented development of our company.”
